Collectibles

Jake has suggested "collectibles" as the theme for this week's Sunday post.

I have never been much of a collector but after going to a few car boot sales I have begun to collect African "sculptures".

This giraffe was given to me by my friend from Cape Town in 1999.

The others have joined my very small collection over the past two years and were bought at car boot sales.

To have a look at more collectibles, check out the many interesting entries in the comments' section of Jake's post here.

    1. I love the giraffe, too. That I have it is thanks to my friend, Tammy, and a former colleague who managed to overcome the beaurocracy and prevented it being sent back to SA (all because it didn't come with a proforma invoice)!

  5. I do like giraffes. I had my eye on one with a wobbly head once (yes, I know it sounds silly!) but it disappeared from the shop before i could persuade my husband to love it too.

  6. When I find it, I'll post the photo of the day I fell in love with giraffes like this one. (And who cares if it sounds silly')

  7. Great collection! Like your article on what makes people collect too-- it is fascinating. Certainly the phrase "one person's junk is another's treasure" applies to collectors.
